Leave Management
Opairly makes it easy to manage your au pair's time off. Au pairs submit leave requests, families approve or decline them, and everyone can see how many days are left.
How leave works
Each household has a yearly leave allowance, 14 days per year by default. You currently can't adjust this number yourself. This is a common sector norm for au pair holiday rights, not a legally fixed number.
Requesting time off (au pair)
- Go to Leave in the dashboard
- Tap Request time off
- Pick a start and end date and optionally add a reason
- Submit your request, it immediately appears for the family to review
Your request shows as "Pending" until the family reviews it.
Reviewing requests (family)
Open requests appear at the top of the leave page with a yellow badge. You can:
- Approve: the days are deducted from the allowance
- Decline: with an optional reason, so the au pair knows why
Tracking your allowance
The leave card shows a progress bar with used and remaining days. Approved requests are automatically counted for the current calendar year.
The leave allowance resets every year on January 1st. The default of 14 days currently can't be changed from Settings.
