Introduction

Welcome to Opairly — household coordination for au pair families.

Opairly helps host families and au pairs stay organized and on the same page. Set daily tasks, write down house rules, track hours, and manage leave requests — so everyone knows what's expected.

What Opairly does

  • Task management — Create recurring tasks with categories like childcare, household, cooking, and education. Tasks are generated daily based on your schedule.
  • Calendar & Scheduling — View the weekly schedule in a clear calendar view, filter by child, and mark free days.
  • House rules — Document your household expectations. 8 categories with suggested templates to get started.
  • Time logging — Au pairs log their hours by category. Families see a simple weekly overview.
  • Leave management — Au pairs request time off, families approve or decline. Default 14 days per year.
  • Children management — Add children and link them to tasks for a clear overview.
  • Hour tracking (optional) — Enable hour limit tracking with configurable limits (default: 30h/week, 8h/day), visual warnings, and export-ready documents.

How it works

  1. Family signs up and creates a household during onboarding
  2. Family sets up tasks and house rules — configure your daily routine and expectations
  3. Family invites au pair via a shareable invite link
  4. Au pair joins the household and sees their daily tasks and rules
  5. Au pair completes tasks and logs hours each day
  6. Family reviews task completion, time logged, and leave requests from the dashboard

Roles

There are two roles in Opairly:

RoleCan do
FamilyCreate/edit tasks and rules, manage household settings, invite members, review leave requests
Au pairView tasks and rules, mark tasks complete, log daily hours, request time off

Both roles can see all tasks, rules, and hours within the household. The difference is who can create and configure things.
