Notifications

Configure email, in-app, and push notification preferences.

Opairly keeps you informed about what's happening in your household through email, in-app, and push notifications. You can fine-tune which notifications you receive in settings.

Notification types

Notifications are sent for the following events:

  • Task activity — when tasks are completed or updated
  • Leave requests — when a request is submitted, approved, or declined
  • Hours logged — when the au pair logs working hours
  • Hour limit warning — when hours approach the daily or weekly limit (in-app only)
  • Rules updated — when house rules are added or changed
  • Weekly summary — a weekly recap of hours and tasks (email only)

Email notifications

Email notifications are sent to the address linked to your account. You can toggle each notification type on or off individually. The weekly summary is a convenient way to stay up to date without checking the app daily.

In-app notifications

In-app notifications appear inside the dashboard. These are useful for real-time updates while you're actively using the app, such as hour limit warnings.

Push notifications

Push notifications work on supported browsers and devices through the Web Push API. To enable them:

  1. Go to Settings in the dashboard
  2. Find the Push notifications section
  3. Click Enable push notifications
  4. Allow the browser permission prompt

You can send a test notification to verify everything works. To stop receiving push notifications, click Disable.
