FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about Opairly.

What are the standard au pair hour limits?

The default hour limits in the Netherlands are 30 hours per week and 8 hours per day. These are set automatically when you create a household with the Netherlands as the country. When hour tracking is enabled, Opairly shows visual warnings as the limits are approached.

Can I change the hour limits?

Yes. Go to Dashboard > Settings to adjust the weekly and daily limits for your situation. See Settings for more details.

How do invite codes work?

Each household has two invite codes: one for the au pair and one for additional family members. The role is automatically determined based on which code is used. Codes can be regenerated in Settings.

What export formats are available?

You can download weekly schedules and house rules as PDF or Excel. The PDF includes a signature block — useful for your au pair agency or IND application. See Export for more information.

Can both family and au pair complete tasks?

Yes. Both roles can mark tasks as completed. Only the family can create, edit, or delete tasks.

How does leave work?

Au pairs have a default of 14 leave days per year. The au pair submits a request, and the family approves or declines it. The leave allowance is configurable per household. See Leave Management for more details.
